Buddleja Davidii ‘Empire Blue’

This well known cultivar is still as popular as ever for its superb violet-purple blooms and their deliciously sweet fragrance. Buddleja davidii ‘Empire Blue’ was one of the first blue varieties commercially available and remains a worthy specimen shrub for sunny borders despite the many new introductions of blue Buddlejas. A large deciduous shrub with an upright habit, it has narrow grey-green leaves with silvery-white undersides that cloak the gently arching stems. Height: 200cm (78″). Spread: 250cm (98″).
